Happy Last Year!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Happy Last Year! It has been good. Lots going on and started a lot of new things. From presentations and artworks programs at the UICA, to ArtPrize participation, to a series of artist portfolios, to continued collaboration with Ryan Greaves through You&I. Looking forward to this year and what it brings. Hope it is great.

Nosh Night @ UICA

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Gave a quick presentation of the typographic things I’ve been up to lately at UICA’s Nosh Night. I found out I would be participating just hours before. The presentation wasn’t so smooth for me, but it was good to quickly gather my recent work and thoughts into something presentable.

Muxtape is Great

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

The new muxtape is great. It sucks you can no longer add your own songs to make mixes, but I have just really been enjoying the bands currently featured on there.

Art Around Town

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

This winter I was a mentor for two students through the UICA’s ArtWorks Program. Yesterday, I attended a fundraiser for the program, where the students work and my own (as well as many other mentors and students), were auctioned off to help raise money for the youth program. The show was at the new headquarters for Eastern Floral at 818 Butterworth in Grand Rapids. I had a framed Joy Poster up for auction. A good time, lots of work was sold, it just didn’t turn out to be the bidding war that could have really benefit the program.

Joy Pins

Joy Posters and Buttons

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

I just finished up some things for the UICA’s Art Around Town Event on May 1st. Come by to see and buy some nice work and support the UICA’s youth programming. I will have the Joy Posters and buttons for sale. With about 50% of sales going to the program. ( This project turned out to be sort of a disaster-piece, I am trying to pull some cleaner prints for the show. )

Not many years left.

If the world continues to consume at the rate it does today, we have about fifty eight years left. If the world consumes at half the rate of the United States, we only have twenty years. Sucks. Download Image From Good.is

I have been using Daytum to track certain things from daily life for about a month now. It’s not something I keep up with daily, but I manage to update everything about once a week.

Things are good.

Not too many updates going on online right now, but look forward to a few updates within the next month as I finish up some new projects.

A New Typeface?

A New Typeface Soon?

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

I’ve had this in the drawer for a while. I got a little inspired to dig in and try to finish things up. I’m not sure whether it will become available in a font file in the near future, but that step is bound to happen sometime. Look forward to some updates through it’s progression & if you would like, let me know what you think when you see them.

New Website!

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Thanks for visiting the site. This is the first version of daverscho.comâ„¢ that has used a CMS for managing the entire site. Everything was built on wordpress; super simple, and fairly flexible. I’m excited to be able to present my work to you in a few different ways, from the work archive, to featured projects, daily -ish* new work postings. Expect changes to come as things get worked in and the site evolves. Enjoy!
